The Tory leadership candidates are agreed on all essentials of policy. They are both believers in a small state, which means they are intent on further cuts to public services, outsourcing and privatisation. They also agree on a commitment to outlaw strikes. There is only a furious debate on the tactical issue of when to implement tax cuts.
Support the train drivers – striking on Saturday 30 July for their pay to keep pace with the increase in the cost of living.
Support the more than 40,000 Communication Workers Union (CWU) members who work for the BT Group and will be striking on 29 July and 1 August. They are fighting against real-terms pay cuts. They are fighting for us all.
A further round of industrial action is taking place on 27 July.
Progressive people will want to show solidarity to those fighting in defence of their jobs and living standards.
Victory to the rail workers!
Socialists support the striking rail workers and any others who enter the fray.
At the same, the Business Investment strike must be broken for any realistic possibility of a sustained rise in living standards.
