The US’s cold war propaganda offensive into the Cop26 has centred on attempting to position itself as the world’s “climate leader” and to shift the blame for the climate crisis onto developing countries, particularly China and India.
US aggression against China is not only a threat to world peace and prosperity, it is also a major obstacle in the way of humanity coming together to tackle climate change.
Following its humiliation in Afghanistan, the US is it stepping up its military focus on China.
The military pact consists of only three countries and does not even include many of the US’s closest Western allies.
The again rapidly worsening situation in the US with COVID-19 was met not with an attempt to deal with the real dangers but with a clearly centrally organized campaign to attempt to disguise by every means possible the real situation from the US people—and above all to conceal China’s success.
In China’s vision, there should not be a single great power that determines what happens in the world, but a multipolar world order in which countries, powerful and less powerful, decide together.
The US now faces a significant risk which can affect its geopolitical position. It is unable to carry out a ‘colour counter-revolution’ in Cuba because of the relation of forces in that country. Meanwhile US policy on Cuba is opposed by an overwhelming number of counties.
The Afghans are largely glad to see the back of the US occupation, to be one more Saigon in a long sequence. But this is not a victory for humanity. It will not be easy for Afghanistan to emerge out of these nightmare decades, but the desire to do so can still be heard.
