Capitalism requires Labour to support its current offensive. The Labour’s right wing cannot guarantee to do that as they do not have the situation within the party sufficiently under their control. Hence the attempts to crush Corbyn and persecute his supporters – which should be resisted.

Successful international action for Yemen – Watch the global rally

On 25 January an international day of action was held for Yemen. The appeal supporting the action has been endorsed by 385 organisations representing 31 nations and states. The video of the Global Online Rally was oversubscribed and can be watched on the Stop The War Coalition website.

Abortion at home – the case for improving abortion access has been made

The home use of the early medical abortion pills during the pandemic has been better and safer for women, it has levelled the playing field and made the NHS more efficient. It should continue.

Macron’s government has expelled hundreds of Muslims from France, placed controls on Mosques and banned the Collective Against Islamophobia. Islamophobia is being whipped up in parallel with increased economic attacks on the population, which follow on from France’s policy not being to eliminate Covid-19.

Progressive International calls for an end to US unilateral sanctions

The Progressive International is calling on the United Nations to take steps to bring an end to the US’ unilateral sanctions on countries, particularly on Cuba, Iran, and Venezuela.
US-backed economic sanctions have an impact on nearly one-third of humanity in some 30 countries, causing untold death and devastation.
