The election plans laid out by the two major parties mean that it is crystal clear only Labour has policies to address the current crises – the combined crises of the climate catastrophe as well as the stagnation of the economy and living standards.

If, in the present situation, Brexit passes it will unleash years of a reactionary offensive in Britain. There will be a tremendous attack on working class rights as the drive to ‘Americanise’ British society is carried out directly in coordination with Trump. That is the correct analysis the great majority of the British left has arrived at.
Whenever an election takes place the priority at present for Labour is to win back Remain supporters, the largest bloc of voters that have shifted away from Labour this year.
