Any ‘strategy’ for fighting the far right that refuses to challenge the far right’s racism will not work. It avoids the most important core issues on which the far right’s advance is based.
Voters say Labour is losing votes because it is too right-wing. It is mainly losing votes to its left or deterring voters from voting at all. It is right-wing myth-making that Labour’s is losing votes solely or mainly to Reform.
The alternative necessary: boost living standards of workers and the poor, including public services; abandon unpopular wars and the boosts to military spending; stop demonising migrants and attacking Labour’s own supporters.
