As Europe approaches NATO’s 24–26 June summit in The Hague, its 750 million people face a decisive strategic choice that will affect their lives for years to come – and one with far wider global impact.
Trump has reached an agreement with Ansar Allah, in which the US will no longer attack Yemen. Ansar Allah has agreed to no longer attack the US navy in the Red Sea, but continues to interdict shipping bound for Israel, and its long-range military action against Israel.
China has a won clear victory in the first battle of the US “trade war”. But the U.S. will not abandon its economic struggle against China. This article analyses the forces that will determine the outcome of this “protracted” economic war.
Beginning the fightback against austerity, explaining how it is linked directly to military spending and the rise of racism is the first step in a long fight to revive the left, to defeat these attacks and to push back against Reform UK.
In Italy the anti-war movement is mobilising in advance of the NATO summit. At recent rallies in Rome and Naples, Italian organisers were joined by European political leaders – reflecting the need for coordination of the resistance to Europe’s militarisation agenda.
