The left has won the Presidency in Peru, giving Pedro Castillo a historic opportunity to open Peru towards democracy and justice. The right will use every mechanism to stifle or coopt him. Cuba does not expect any gift from the United States, nor does it demand preferential commercial treatment. But Cuba has the right to demand the United States respect its sovereignty and desist from acting to dominate the destiny of Cuba. US aggression should be ended and it should leave Cuba alone.
