CND Emergency Day Of Action on Ukraine – Saturday 7 December

Support and join in the Day Of Action on Ukraine
Saturday 7 December
Events in London, Manchester and Plymouth

Information from the Day Of Action organisers

Political leaders need to step back from the nuclear brink. Britain’s reckless decision to allow Ukraine to fire its long-range Storm Shadow missiles is increasing the risk of an all-out war between nuclear-armed NATO and Russia. The British government must listen to the people of Ukraine, who want an immediate end to their suffering through a peaceful, negotiated settlement.

On this Emergency Day of Action, join – or organise – local activities that are taking place across the country to show the strength of opposition there is to this dangerous escalation.

CND condemns US & UK and calls for immediate peace talks

CND’s statement below can be found here.

CND strongly condemns the decisions of US President Biden and British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, to allow Ukraine to use their long-range missiles to strike targets inside Russia. Russia has now lowered its threshold for nuclear use, precisely to respond to such attacks by the US-made Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and Britain’s Storm Shadow missiles. It is very concerning that Russia has retaliated by launching a hypersonic ballistic missile into Southern Ukraine.

This is an incredibly dangerous situation which risks drawing nuclear-armed NATO into an all-out confrontation with Russia, increasing the likelihood of catastrophic nuclear use.

We’re calling on all political leaders to pull back from the nuclear brink.  The US and Britain need to withdraw their long-range missiles from Ukraine and use their political influence to secure immediate peace talks.
