Today, the Palestinian people are facing two deadly threats – the Covid-19 outbreak and US President Trump’s ill-named “Deal of the Century”. The urgency of the virus is immediate with outbreaks in both Gaza and the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, since the start of the Great March of Return in Gaza on 30 March 2018, 264 Palestinians have been killed and 36,318 have been injured.
The Palestinian people need our solidarity more than ever, and are calling for global protests to protect their collective rights.
Palestinians have issued a global call for solidarity on the 1st anniversary of the start of the Great Return March. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign is responding by coordinating a series of events, including a rally and national day of action, on 30 March.
Jeremy Corbyn issued the following statement, previously published here, on 5 June 2018.

Trump’s shift on Israel’s capital – widely condemned
Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel represents a significant shift in US foreign policy. It is a violation of international law which recognises East Jerusalem is Palestinian territory that is has been under illegal Israeli occupation since 1967. It is a sharp departure from the internationally recognised basis for a two state solution, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
