By focusing only on coal and not including oil and gas, the COP26 text disproportionately impacts certain developing countries like China and India. All fossil fuels must be phased down, in an equitable manner.
The march is just another episode in a more comprehensive strategy. Behind the “non-violent march” mantra is the long shadow of the life-long reactionaries who dream of ending the Cuban Revolution no later than 15 November. Washington is lubricating the route plan of the protest with threats and dollars.
The country-by-country league table from the latest Carbon Change Performance Index, which covers 64 countries responsible for 92% of global greenhouse gas emissions, shows that the US is at 55 – 9th worst.
