Sixty years after the French colonies got their formal independence, the economic, military and political ties which kept the ex-colonies under France domination remains.
It is time that France turned the final page of its policies of colonialism and neo-colonialism.
The U.S. is clearly the world’s worst per capita major carbon emitter not only in historic terms, which is relatively well known, but also in current terms. The U.S. attack on China and India, the first of which has per capita carbon emissions 46% of the U.S. and the second of which has per capita emissions 12% of the U.S., is therefore a grotesque frameup.
The UK, like much of the western world is entering a renewed period of austerity, as capital seeks to use the defeats imposed on the working class by the coronavirus pandemic to restore profits.
The West Asian and North African region is disproportionately feeling the impacts of climate change, but the ongoing imperialist-led wars make it nearly impossible for these countries to implement mitigation measures.
On October 25th Sudanese military forces enacted a coup. If the coup is consolidated this will be a grave blow to the aspirations of the majority of Sudanese people.
