I have just returned from Ecuador where I went to see for myself the gains of the country’s Citizens’ Revolution and the lessons it has for activists seeking to build a better world.

The right wing opposition to Venezuela’s elected Chávista government has unleashed a wave of violence to try and oust it.
This has left 32 dead and 461 injured – and despite mainstream media suggestions to the contrary it is the opposition violence that is the principal cause of the deaths.
Tony Benn, who died on 14 March 2014, led a radical recomposition of British politics, which despite the defeat of the left he led in the labour movement in the 1970s and 80s changed left politics in Britain forever.
