If Roe v Wade is overturned the right to abortion in the US will be removed and women’s lives will be at the mercy of individual states.

The immediate impact of the ruling as drafted would be to end a half-century guarantee of federal constitutional protection of abortion rights. It would allow each state to decide whether to restrict or ban abortion.
Lizelle Herrera was arrested in Texas and accused of causing the “death of an individual through a self-induced abortion.” The district attorney has now said he will drop the murder charges. The consequences of Texas’ new abortion law are clear to see.
Oklahoma’s new bill will create a near total ban on abortion, if implemented. Plus this summer the Supreme Court will rule on Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban and is unlikely to uphold abortion rights won under Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
