The government chooses to attack the health and the living standards of the many, it uses racism to divide, distract and scapegoat for its failures. Racism makes life so much harder for Bame women. Let us pledge to march against racism marking UN Anti-Racism Day in London and Glasgow on Saturday March 19 and in Cardiff on Sunday March 20.
The experience of Covid illustrates Engels’ point. It has vividly demonstrated the role of the family as an economic unit, to provide, unremunerated, unrecognised and with significant personal loss, services that should be socially provided. It is an impossible demand.
The war in Ukraine could be ended extremely rapidly by:
• Making it clear Ukraine will not enter NATO.
• By acceptance of the rights of the Russian speaking population of East Ukraine.
These are the policies that the left should support.
What we are witnessing in Ukraine is a pushback against Western aggression in the form of the eastward expansion of NATO to the point where it now poses an unacceptable threat to Russia’s security.
We call for a serious, constructive and realistic diplomatic solution to the current crisis in Europe, via peaceful means, ensuring the security and sovereignty of all, as well as regional and international peace, stability and security.
Cuba rejects hypocrisy and double standards. It should be recalled that in 1999 the United States and NATO launched a major attack on Yugoslavia, a European country that was fragmented with a high cost in human lives, in pursuit of geopolitical objectives, disregarding the UN Charter.
