The population of Britain is facing a catastrophe because of Boris Johnson’s Tory government callous and barbaric inaction which is allowing the coronavirus to spread uncontrollably throughout the population.
The coronavirus is literally a life and death issue for millions of people. It has also simultaneously produced a gigantic global economic shock.
The experience of China shows the coronavirus can be brought under control. But so far, the capitalist Western countries are not taking these measures.
Through tremendous sacrifices China has brought the coronavirus under control – performing an enormous service not only to the Chinese people but also gave a crucial opportunity to the whole rest of the world to prepare.

The claim from the Tory government and its army of media supporters that the latest Budget has ended austerity is completely false. It is very important for the left and the labour movement as a whole that they grasp the character of the new attacks to come, so that they can resist them.
