The transition to sustainable energy is not fast enough to avert a catastrophic increase of almost 3C in average temperatures by the end of the century on current policies. Policies, overwhelmingly those in the Global North, need to change.
The U.S. will be a dangerous force whether Harris or Trump is elected
Whether Harris or Trump is elected U.S. President they will continue their interrelated policies of aggression internationally and attacks on the US population domestically to finance and sustain this.
The struggle against the US war drive and climate breakdown will define humanity’s future
The world has entered its greatest general crisis since World War Two.
It is vital that socialists build the broadest united fronts against the US war drive and climate breakdown as part of the struggle against all forms of exploitation and oppression.
What should be the position of the left on peace in Ukraine
(i) Call for a ceasefire.
(ii) Call for the opening of peace negotiations without preconditions.
(iii) Oppose Ukrainian membership of NATO.
(iv) Demand recognition of the rights of the large Russian speaking minority in the east of Ukraine.
