Cost of living crisis
Protests against austerity
Saturday 12 February
There is nothing progressive to be expected from the turmoil in the Tory Party. The underlying factors causing it, the policies of the Covid death toll and austerity, are supported by all possible Johnson rivals.
The decisions of both Joe Biden and Boris Johnson in recent days will ensure the Covid death toll will go far higher. Extending the pandemic allows the ruling class offensive to continue. It is the centrepiece of government policy. So the struggle will be a prolonged one.
Where next for the Covid crisis?
On line meeting
6.30pm Monday 10 January
Organised by the Zero Covid Coalition
The latest wave of the pandemic threatens to turn into an outright crisis for the Tory government. The new measures forced on it very significantly damage its credibility on an issue which affects the entire population very directly.
A Zero Covid strategy remains the only viable alternative to the current policy of ‘learning to live (die) with the virus’.
Socialists should do everything they can to ensure the entire Tory party is held collectively responsible for their outrageous attacks on the population, to kick them all out.
