About this Event

All school pupils in England are due to return to school on March 8th – a ‘big bang’ reopening. Every other administration, in Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh is adopting a much more gradual approach. SAGE say an early reopening risks a rise in new cases. We know what happened after the schools reopened in September, when cases and deaths surged.

Teachers, head teachers, school workers and parents all want a safe roadmap out of lockdown. Public health could come first. Schools could reopen only when it’s safe. Lockdown could be ended when the numbers of cases and deaths are very low. Test, trace and isolate could all be made much more effective. Come and hear our great list of speakers, on how we can avoid following the government’s roadmap to the cliff edge.

The government’s own advisers in SAGE say that this ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown is reckless.
