Richard Burgon is the best candidate for Deputy Leader of Labour, who will ensure Labour fights the Tories’ savage agenda of austerity, racism and war. He will also fight for serious action to be taken on the climate catastrophe.
He has been a consistent champion of international solidarity, an opponent of the invasion of Iraq, and has campaigned for Labour to be a party that will end austerity and re-nationalise public services. He supports the political framework of the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn.
The New Year’s Resolution Richard tweeted was to: ‘1. Work to build the widest unity across our party and our movement to take the fight to the Tories’, and ‘2. Continue to proudly stand up for our anti-austerity, anti-racist and anti-war internationalist politics.’
It is important that Labour MPs and MEPs this week ensure that Richard Burgon receives the necessary 22 nominations so that Labour members get the opportunity to campaign and vote for him as Deputy Leader.
