After the recent general election, Germany will see its first coalition government since 1957 which includes more than two parties, and the first Social Democrat (SPD) led government since 2005.
Although the SPD won the election, it only gained a meagre 25.7% vote share; a long way from its high point of 40.9% in 1998.
The 2019 Polish parliamentary elections were held on 13 October 2019. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate were elected. The ruling PiS won the elections, the far-right entered the parliament, whilst the left returned to parliament.
The first round of Argentina’s presidential election takes place on 27 October 2019. And there is great expectation that Argentina’s united left will win this important election.
Bolivians vote in a general election on October 20th. Evo Morales has been the President since 2006, winning three successive terms as President. A victory for him would continue the development of the economy and the rise in living standards since he took office.
The latest general election in Spain confirms the deepening polarisation across society. The socialists (PSOE) were the big winners of the election but remain well short of forming a majority government.
