Support the postal workers!

The series of one day strikes by the CWU’s Royal Mail Group workers continues with strikes on Friday 9th December, Sunday 11th, Wednesday 14th, Thursday 15th, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th.

It appears that the strategy of the Tory government, which ultimately has regulatory control over public services, even those delivered by private companies, is to force down real pay levels as far as possible.

The Tories are giving full backing to Royal Mail’s management, to cut wages, ‘casualise’ the postal service and slash working conditions.

Royal Mail’s intransigence in the negotiations indicates this is going to be a difficult fight for CWU members.

The postal workers strikes should be fully supported across the entire labour movement.

Solidarity attendance at picket lines is encouraged, the locations of which can be found here.
